………………………………………………………….

For the longest time I have been wanting to read this book. I have heard of it’s humor and lifelike characters. When I saw it was on Audible, I was excited to finally give it a read. What I found is a charming book, like chatting with a friend about the little stories in life. No, it will probably not impact my life in grand ways. No, it is unlikely I will sit and meditate on what was written. However, for a brief moment in time, I was told a series of stories. And these stories existed for me to simply sit and enjoy. I must say, it is a breath of fresh air to find a book like this one.

Whereas some books written during this time period can feel a bit stuffy, I found the classic writing style and historical storyline endearing. The combination of Wooster’s devotion to Jeeves and Jeeves intelligent ways, create a product where each story runs the same course, while keeping its delightful lightheartedness. Also, the narrator did a fabulous job bringing personality into the characters. I enjoyed the tenor of his voice and the emotions reflected in his narration.

Are you in a reading rut? Do you want to sit down and enjoy a book, I mean truly enjoy it for the small pleasure of reading a book? Is it time for a rest from reality? Leave it to Jeeves is a compilation of short stories made for these things and more. The humor does not overwhelm the simple writing style, it compliments it perfectly. In the midst of everything, you deserve a treat, I suggest you leave it to Jeeves.
